1. Making a group booking (9 or more people)

1.1 Online with your credit card or Paypal (immediate booking)

You can make a confirmed online group booking with your credit card or Paypal for up to 20. You must book private rooms so you pay for every bed in the room. You will receive an e-mail confirmation from the company who facilitates these bookings for us and then we will contact you personally by e-mail to confirm what you have booked and when the balance will be charged to your credit card or when you need to arrange payment by bank transfer or Paypal (see below).

1.2 Through the Group Manager (by e-mail)

You can also contact the Group Reservation Manager and request a booking tailored to your individual needs. Please use the request form and enter as many details as possible to receive the best offer. You should book in this way if you do not require private rooms or if you think you qualify for a discount. Once the reservation has been made you normally have one week to confirm or cancel it and then one further week to make the first payment (see below).

2. Payments

The payment conditions vary depending on how and when the booking is made. “Online bookings” are made directly on the internet: you enter your credit card or Paypal details, pay a deposit and receive an immediate confirmation e-mail. We will then contact you again by e-mail to confirm the details of your booking. All other bookings are made through contact with the Group Reservation Manager (by e-mail, phone or fax) and are called “personalised bookings” in the description below.

2.1 Online bookings made more than 4 weeks before arrival

  • When you make the booking online you pay 12% of the bed and breakfast price as a non-refundable deposit using your credit card or Paypal.
  • The remaining 88%, plus a key and damage deposit of 100 euro, is due 4 weeks before arrival. When you book with a credit card we will charge the balance to the same card. If your card will expire before this date you are responsible to supply us with the new card details. Without valid credit card details, or if insufficient funds are available, your booking may be cancelled by us.
  • If you prefer to pay the money by bank transfer or by Paypal instead of by credit card then please contact us for more details at least 6 weeks before arrival.

2.2 Online bookings made 4 weeks or less before arrival

  • When you make the booking online you pay 12% of the bed and breakfast price as a non-refundable deposit using your credit card or Paypal.
  • The remaining 88%, plus a key and damage deposit of 100 euro, is due immediately after booking. When you book with a credit card we will charge the balance to the same card. If insufficient funds are available your booking may be cancelled by us. See below for details of cancellations costs and refunds.
  • If you prefer to pay the remainder of the bill by bank transfer or by Paypal instead of by credit card then please contact us for more details immediately after making your booking.

2.3 Personalised bookings made more than 10 weeks before arrival

  • To confirm your booking you must pay a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the bed and breakfast price plus booking fee. Normally this deposit is due two weeks after the booking has been made.
  • The rest of the money is due 4 weeks before arrival.
  • If you choose to pay the total bill by the date when just the deposit is due then you get a discount of 2% of the bed and breakfast price. The non-refundable amount in case of cancellation is limited to 25% of the bed and breakfast price plus booking fee.
  • You may choose to give us your credit card details and authorise us to charge it, you may make a bank transfer into our bank account, or you may use Paypal. Please allow two weeks for the money to reach us by an international bank transfer (one week if your account is in euro).

2.4 Personalised bookings made 6 to 10 weeks before arrival

  • The total bill must be paid to confirm the booking and is normally due 2 weeks after the booking has been made. The non-refundable amount in case of cancellation is limited to 25% of the bed and breakfast price plus booking fee.
  • You may choose to give us your credit card details and authorise us to charge it, or you may make a bank transfer into our bank account, or you may use Paypal. Please allow two weeks for the money to reach us by an international bank transfer (one week if your account is in euro).

2.5 Personalised bookings made less than 6 weeks before arrival

  • The total bill must be paid by credit card or Paypal in order to confirm the booking.

2.6 All personalised bookings

Your booking is only confirmed when we have received payment from you. If your payment arrives too late then we may cancel your booking. If we cancel your booking because of non-payment and you want to re-make it, there will be an extra booking fee (assuming that beds are still available for you).


3. Cancellations

All cancellations should be made in writing (e-mail).

3.1 Cancellations more than 4 weeks before arrival

In the case of the entire booking being cancelled, the non-refundable deposit of 25% of the bed and breakfast bill plus booking fee (and any extra administration charges) will not be refunded. Any other money paid will be refunded subject to an administration charge (normally 20 euro). Individual group members (in rooms shared with other guests, or all the people in a private room) may cancel and the deposit paid for them will be deducted from the final bill up to a maximum of 8 beds and 75% of the total bed and breakfast bill (see below for costs of changes).

3.2 Cancellations between 2 and 4 weeks before arrival

In the case of the entire booking being cancelled, the booking fee, any extra administration charges, and 50% of the other items on the bill will not be refunded. The remaining 50% plus the full key and damage deposit will be refunded subject to an administration charge. Individual group members (in rooms shared with other guests, or all the people in a private room) may cancel and 50% of the money paid for them will be refunded in cash at check-out up to a maximum of 8 beds (see below for costs of changes).

3.3 Cancellations less than 2 weeks before arrival

No money will be refunded, except the key and damage deposit which is subject to an administration charge.

For online group bookings, the 12% paid at the time of booking is non-refundable. In case of cancellation between 2 and 4 weeks before arrival, 50% of the amount paid directly to the hostel will be refunded, which is normally 44% of the total bed and breakfast bill.

If you paid by bank transfer you are responsible to supply us with the necessary information for us to make the transfer to your bank account. If you paid by credit card or Paypal we will return the money using your credit card or Paypal details. There may be a charge for this service.

Should we have to cancel your booking for any reason beyond your control you will receive a full refund, but no liability will exceed the amount paid to us. We advise you to purchase travel insurance which includes cancellation insurance.


4. Changes to your booking

Once you have made your (first) payment, your booking is finalised. Until 4 weeks before arrival you may make one change to the booking for free, each further change, and changes made within 4 weeks of arrival, will cost 2% of the revised bed and breakfast bill for administration charges. By “change” we understand the following:

  • Adding more people to the booking so that the total bill increases (if you have empty beds in private rooms in the original booking and fill these beds this does not count as a change as it does not increase the bill). Beds added less than 4 weeks before arrival are at the full price and do not qualify for group discounts.
  • Changing the rooms (either the size of the rooms or the gender).
  • Cancelling beds 2 weeks or more before arrival so that the total bill decreases (if you have private rooms and the cancellation results in empty beds in rooms which you still use for other members of your group this does not count as a change as it does not affect the bill). See above for how much money will be refunded if applicable.
  • Changing the number of nights of your booking (either increasing or decreasing).
  • Adding or cancelling meals (up to 10% more or less people per meal already booked is not counted as a change).


5. Other matters

  • If the group booking is just for one night and is on a Friday, Saturday or one of the following dates around public holidays, then an extra charge of 5 euro will be made per bed booked: 27-31 Dec 2015; 1-2 Jan; 22-31 Mar; 26-28Apr; 5 &15 May 2016.
  • Lunches and or dinners must be ordered and paid for at least four weeks before arrival and include the number of vegetarians.
  • A complete list of names and the room allocation must be sent at least one week before arrival.
  • Damage caused to the hostel or its property must be reported and paid for immediately.
  • Should the behavior of any member of the group cause serious, irresolvable problems to the hostel guests, staff, management or neighbours, we reserve the right to ask the individual or group to leave without refund.
  • Assuming no lost keys or damage the 100 euro key and damage deposit will be returned when requested at check-out.
  • Mistakes can be made in our calculations and we reserve the right to correct all and any prices. Our policies and prices are clearly defined and, in the event of disagreement, the decision of the general manager is final.
