Cleaner Program in Amsterdam

Are you looking for room and board in Amsterdam? Do you want to know more about God? Join our cleaner ministry. In both of our hostels we offer a cleaning program. Our cleaning programs are ideal if you are working your way around Europe or if you want a longer stay in Amsterdam.

What does our Cleaner Program in Amsterdam involve?

Our cleaning program in Amsterdam involves:

• Free stay in one of our hostels in Amsterdam, Shelter Jordan or Shelter City Hostel, for up to 28 days
• 5 hours of cleaning work every day
• Training on the job
• Free laundry service
• Time off every afternoon after 3pm to search for housing and a more permanent job in Amsterdam
• Cleaner team meeting every day with Bible reading and prayer (being a Christian is not a requirement for this job in Amsterdam)
• FREE optional Alpha Course – an introduction to the Christian faith

Requirements:

• Age 18-40
• Good attitude and work ethic
• Ability to understand and speak English
• Valid passport and permission to be in the Netherland

More About our Cleaning Program

We are an international community in Amsterdam, with volunteers from all over the world. We connect through the English language . We have 3-6 positions offered at each hostel, the Shelter City Hostel Amsterdam or the Shelter Jordan Amsterdam Hostel, for 2 weeks (minimum) to 28 days (maximum).

Daily Schedule of our Cleaning Program

The teams starts every day at 10am and finishes around 3pm, including a break for lunch with the rest of the staff.

What is special about this opportunity?

Since we are a Christian hostel, a special aspect of our cleaner program is that we begin our work with a thirty minute discussion covering topics about the Bible and Christianity. Although we do not ask that you be Christian to work on our cleaning team, we ask that you respect our beliefs and opinions during your stay at our hostel.

How can you apply for our cleaning program?

We only do interviews in person, no one is hired in advance. Swing by one of our hostels any day between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to do an interview.
